Blue Diamond® Gel Pads are encapsulated with a thermoformed film so that no additional surface tension is created. These gel heel cups are ideal when concern for the patients heels is a factor, like a supine surgical procedure where heels are more susceptible to pressure related injuries. A supine position is where a patient lies on their back with their head to the ceiling. These cups raise the heel slightly not affecting blood flow to the feet. They are notched in the back of cup to secure and support the patient’s Achilles tendon area. Sold either as a pair or individually
